Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Su Weibin, general manager of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company LTD (DPCA) stated that the abandoned brand Citroen Fukang will be revived as a new energy vehicle brand, and become DPCA's third brand to fill the blank between Citroen and Peugeot.
It makes sense to revive Fukang brand, because using a former widely known brand is much better than creating a new brand. In addition, as the latest self-owned brand of the JV, new Fukang will redesign its logo, in order to meet the demand of new era and the identity of a NEV brand.
It is said that new Fukang's first new model will be a pure electric sedan, which will be launched at the Chengdu Motor Show 2018 and will hit the market at the end of this year. In 2019, the new brand will also release SUV models.
