Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Since July this year, all-electric special vehicle market dominated by all-electric logistics vehicles has soared amazingly. According to the certificates number from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), all-electric cars manufactured in October totaled 13,269, down 6.6% month on month, yet up 680% year on year, the fourth highest growth this year. July saw the highest growth year on year, up 1536% year on year, while August and September grew by 863% and 1003% respectively year on year.
In terms of monthly production, the July production reached 10,813, and September and October went back to ten-thousand level and kept at 13 thousand after a slight fall in August. Under the condition that new energy passenger car market failed to meet expectations, all-electric logistics vehicles maintained its growth, indicating its investment potential.
In terms of auto manufacturing companies, the October production of Dongfeng all-electric special cars reached 1,635, soaring 267% year on year, and ranked No.1 in monthly production, followed by Zhong Tong Bus, Jiangxi Changhe, Chongqing Ruichi and Dayun Auto subsequently.
From January to October, domestic total production reached 58,296, 5.21 times that of the same period of last year, with a net increase of 47 thousand. The data indicated that the production from January to November might surpass the yearly production of 60.7 thousand in 2016 to hit a record high.
Easy entry to the auto market has made the industry competition much fiercer. When Dongfeng, with a total production from January to October of 10,779, still maintained its No.1 position for the third year, the rank of top companies has already changed. Shanxi Tongjia climbed from No.7 in 2016 to No.2 this year, Hubei Xinchufeng affiliated to Hi-tech Group from No.10 to No.3, Chongqing Ruichi from No.6 to No.4. Besides, it's noticeable that Zhong Tong Bus ranked No.5 this year with a production from January to October of 2,813, though it didn't hit top 15 last year. Another two companies, Fujian New Longma and Yantai Shuchi, didn't hit top 15 last years, yet these two ranked No.5 and No.6 respectively this year.
In addition, the production and market share of Geely Commercial, Jiangxi Changhe, Nanjing Jinlong and Nanjing Iveco this year grew precipitously, and ranked No.9, No.10, No.12, and No.13 respectively.
Generally speaking, compared with the new energy passenger car market, the new energy logistics car market maintained a momentum of rapid growth, and various auto companies invested heavily in this segment. Some analysts believe, it's likely that new energy special vehicle market can hit a production of 100,000 if the subsidy of NEV phases out and the policy on the right of way for logistics car becomes more favorable next year.
