BAK’s 200 million Ah batteries been totally ordered

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-Thanks to the support of Chinese NEV policies, China now ranks NO.1 of the global NEV sales consecutively. As a core part for an EV, battery now becomes a booming industry. BAK Battery is a world-leading battery new energy enterprise headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangzhou Province. Adopting abundant high-tech automated equipment in its Zhengzhou production base, BAK not only promotes its production efficiency, and also improves its quality control ability. 

In 2016, BAK delivered 2.5GWh and more than 50,000 NEV models annually. In addition, BAK's ternary lithium battery had accounted for 30% of Chinese market share. The production capacity of the newly-built automated production line is expected to reach 200 million Ah next year, which had been totally ordered by a carmaker.

BAK's Zhengzhou base has been fully automated. Once finished construction, it will boast an overall production capacity of 5GWh. And the intelligent production line will improve the production efficiency of 116%, reduce the operation cost of 25%, shorten the production upgrading cycle of 33%, promote the rate of good-quality products of 5% and decrease the fuel consumption of 15%. At present, each of BAK's production line can produce 130 battery cells in one minute, and the high-speed production lines are expected to produce 220 battery cells in one minute.

Apart from improving current production efficiency, BAK now is also dedicated to building new production bases to expand its production capacity. As is planned, BAK will have a cylindrical battery production capacity of 16GWh by 2020. Besides, BAK had signed a cooperation agreement with Jining government on Nov.1, saying that it will invest RMB 14.3 billion to build the NEV projects, in order to improve its production capacity. BAK will also focus on power battery recycle, trying to make full use of the scrap batteries to reduce the battery costs.
