Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Changan Automobile is working on new brand’s strategy, which is to be unveiled in the second quarter, a China’s local media cited the automaker’s president Zhu Huarong as saying recently.
The first product under the new brand is reported to be a crossover SUV while the second one is a coupe. Both models will be targeted at the consumer group who can afford vehicles of RMB 200,000.
The other two brands of the group, Changan and Oushang, will also step up efforts to promote sales in 2018. This year, Oushang will launch a large-size MPV product while Changan will better its SUV product portfolio.
This is the latest news on the automaker’s progress after it released the Shangri-La Plan. With the introduction of several Chinese premium auto brands, such as WEY and Lynk&Co, the quality and image of Chinese auto brands has been elevated a lot in the past several years. The new brand of Changan is also expected to be another premium brand.
