Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Shen Haiyin, founder of Singulato Motors (a Chinese electric vehicle starup, hereinafter, Singulato), revealed its vehicle-making process, capital cooperation and R&D strategy in a recent interview.
According to Shen Haiyin, at present, Singulato already has more than 50 intelligent vehicles being tested at home and abroad, such as UK, Tianjin and Chongqing. The vehicles are tested in various aspects, for instance durability, resistance at high altitude and in cold area and chassis tuning. In 2018, the company plans to sell its pure electric mid-to-large production SUV iS6 after being listed in the national product catalogue.
Currently, a subordinate enterprise of Dongfeng Motor in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province is responsible for the small-scale production of Singulato's vehicle. However, the large-scale production cooperator is still a mystery except that it is also located in Jiangsu Province.
Beside, in 2018, its second model will be produced in the Tongling plant of Anhui Province and relevant production qualifications will be applied in the meantime.
In the first half of 2018, Singulato plans to initiate its C-round fund raising for its business expansion and collaboration with suppliers in future.
Speaking of partnership, Shen Haiyin stated that due to BAT’s (Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent) different focuses in intelligent vehicle area, Singulato may cooperate with all of them otherthan choosing only one partner.
He also showed that except BAT, Singulato also has a cooperative intention with Didi Chuxing (a Chinese ride-hailing brand), Meituan (a Chinese group-buying app) and Yidao Yongche (also a Chinese ride-hailing brand).
