Shanghai (Gasgoo)-Brilliance Auto's high-end brand Huasong is showing pessimistic market performance.
Since the establishment in 2015, Huasong brand has only one model Huasong 7 in more than two years' time. The high-end commercial MPV also shows bad performance after its launch.
It's also revealed that Huasong 7 sells 4,500 units in 2016 and its total sales volume in the previous eight months of 2017 reaches only 2,200 units. It sells 2,002 units in June this year. However, the monthly sales volumes in July and August are 17 units and zero respectively.
The monthly sales volume peak appears in the end of 2015 with the number of 4,000 units. But it’s revealed that the vehicles are mainly purchased by renting companies and key accounts.
Huasong 7 facelift model was launched at the end of September this year with the selling price ranging RMB 237,700 to 287,700 but still faced bad market performance. To erase the fund pressure by unsalable products, some dealerships have refused the reservation of new Huasong 7 models. Besides, Huasong is always using the sales channels from Brilliance Jinbei and Brilliance Zhonghua, showing no high-end services for customers.
Currently, Huasong faces an embarrassing situation with out-of-date services and uncompetitive products. Brilliance Auto is unable to sustain Huasong brand, and the latter one plans to seek for another auto group for further developments.
It’s revealed that Brilliance Auto is negotiating with Renault Group to cooperate in Huasong brand. In fact, a framework cooperative agreement on Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Auto was signed on July 5th, in which Renault would hold 49% shares of the company.
