Beijing Hyundai to produce mini car in 2008

Beijing Hyundai's second factory will be completed soon, and its production capacity will be greatly improved. The increased production will enable Beijing Hyundai to introduce brand new models. Reportedly, Beijing Hyundai will produce three new models in the second factory next year, the first two models are the new Elantra and a two-door sports Coupe, the third model will be a compact economy sedan called GETZ , according to sources.
The GETZ model comes in three different types of engines: 1.1 L, 1.4L and 1.6L.
Since the Click-Getz series was launched in May 2002, its sales have reached 550,000 units.
New GM Spark to be made in China next year

General Motors announced today that it will officially launch Matiz. Matiz's prototype Spark, which is currently produced by SAIC WULING will probably be made in China next year.
Both the interior and exterior of the new Matiz has been re-designed, making it more stylish. The car interior comes in three colours: red, green and blue. Compared to the previous model with gray interior,, the new designed Matiz is set to win the hearts of younger consumers.
Mitsubishi to import seven models to China

Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC) plans to unveil seven vehicle models in the Chinese market between now and the end of 2008. Mitsubishi confirmed these models will cover all ranges of passenger vehicles, including sedan, MPV, SUV, sport car and racing car.
The 08 Grandis and Outlander SUV have been redesigned to provide greater comfort and easier manuever whereas the Mitsubishi Eclipse, a two-door, four-seat sport compact car, combines impressive design and high performance at an affordable price.
Pajero SUV and the all new Lancer will also be introduced as a completely built imported unit.
Mitsubishi is expected to spark an aggressive round of competition in the Chinese auto sector in 2007 and 2008.
New 8th Gen Accord to be made in China this year

The new eighth generation Accord will be launched in the North American market in September and it is expected to be unveiled in China at the Guangzhou International Automobile Show on November 20 this year, according to a Guanzhou Honda dealer.
According to insiders, Guangzhou Honda is currently establishing an engineering department to coordinate with Honda headquarters, in order to speed up the production of this new eighth generation Accord in China. The Group also does not deny the possibility of this new model making its debut in China.
Meanwhile, Guangzhou Honda will distribute the ACCORD design, drawings, parts parameters, obtained from Honda headquarter, to its manufacturer and auto parts suppliers to kick start the ACCORD mass production as soon as possible, in line with Honda's headquarter strategy.
Benz to import CLK convertible

Mercedes Co. said last week that in addition to the SL, CLK and SLK928 convertible imported into China, the Company will introduce CLK280 and CLK350 into the Chinese market, in order to meet the increasing demand for luxury car.
It is reported that in addition to the standard CLK features, the sports version will feature a 17-inch light alloy wheel, brake discs and other sports equipment.
According to statistics released by the company, 105,000 units of the CLK series have been sold to date, of which 40% are CLK350 that comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
