China Association of Automobile Manufacturer latest statistics showed that by the end of April this year, domestic market auto sales exceeded two million units, of which passenger cars sales reached 1.5345 million units, 40% more than the total sales volume last year. Compared with sales in March, passenger car sales in April declined slightly, with total sales of 545,800 units, dropping 4%, but still increased by 16% year on year. Sedans in April sold a total of 411,800 units, increased 0.6% compared with March, and a growth of 17% year on year; MPV and SUV sales were 21,000 units and 29,000 units, reached a growth rate of 53.51% and 33.89% year on year.
In the sedan market, in April, self brand sales accounted for 28% of total sales, nearly 120,000 units, followed by the Japanese, German, the U.S., South Korea, France and Italy brands models, which accounted for a total sales of 27%, 21%, 14%, 5.5%, 4.5% and 0.3% respectively.
